16ARLINGTON MAKES A CASE FOR THE "BRAZILIAN BOMBSHELL BLOW-DRY"

London Fashion Week has long been hailed for its ample beauty inspiration, from effortlessly undone tresses to timeless smoky eyes. With catwalk season now firmly underway, we look to designers to dictate the reigning trends of the coming months and decide which statement beauty moments will trickle into the mainstream in the year ahead. The hairstyle of the spring/summer 2025 season so far? 16Arlington's dramatic and voluminous "Brazilian bombshell blow-dry".

"The look at 16Arlington was inspired by the Brazilian supermodels of the noughties," explains key hairstylist Sam McKnight. "Sexy bombshell blowouts and supermodel slick chignons. Gisele Bündchen was a muse among others."

Characterised by its breezy texture and extreme body, this airy hairstyle is the modern way to wear a classically glamorous blow-dry; it sidelines extreme shine and uniform shape and invites a lived-in wispiness to an otherwise polished styling. Truly reminiscent of the early 2000s, it also incorporates an extreme side parting.

To create the dramatic supermodel lengths, McKnight used the Cool Girl Superlift Root Volumising Spray to achieve fullness at the roots, and the Save the Do Blow Dry Style Starter throughout lengths to ensure a curvaceous lasting shape. He then blow-dried the hair with a round brush to create body and movement throughout the shaft.

"Mist Modern Hairspray onto each section for hold before rolling on a medium 55m velcro roller," says McKnight. "Repeat through all hair and leave to cool. For fast-forming action, pop on a hood dryer for 15mins."

The best part of this chic supermodel hairdo? It can be replicated across every hair type with only some subtle styling adjustments. "We had lots of different textures and hair types at the show," says McKnight. "For frizzy, coarse hair we added a step of smoothing through with Love Me Do Oil or Happy Endings to lock in moisture. For curly hair, we often used mini straighteners to go through the roots and keep them from reverting back to their natural texture in the warm backstage area. For fine hair, extra attention was given to enhance volume with a mist of Cool Girl."

Until this point, extreme glamour had taken a backseat in the world of hair, with the red carpet showcasing casually dressed-down hair textures (think Sienna Miller and Daisy Edgar Jones) and very little else. However, between Jennifer Aniston's fresh extensions and Sabrina Carpenter's six-hour pin curls, it's safe to say that the tide is beginning to turn when it comes to statement-making celebrity hair.
